Ellis Island becomes a museum
Ellis Island, a history of the American Dream
In 1954, the immigration centre of Ellis Island closed its doors once and for all. The site was left nearly abandoned for over thirty years. On the other hand, the fortunate who were able to enter the country have become the citizens of today. The island recovered its innocence as it was turned into a museum. The site represents today a dream world where America was synonymous with liberty and success.
