Food tour in the USA

When you think about American food, you think about junk food. But one typical American dish would be the American apple pie. Another typical meal you can find in Boston, MA is the clam chowder. Clam chowder is of European origin. It was imported by French and British settlers in the 18^th century. In Baton Rouge, Louisiana, the typical meal is shrimp gumbo. Louisiana is a state with lots of different influences, mostly from the Caribbean sea. Creole cuisine is just one example of how diverse the culture in Louisiana is. In Santa Fe, New Mexico, one of the typical meals is enchilada. The South-West of the USA is under the influence of Mexican culture. For a long time, it was in Spanish territory.
